How to fix a stuck tablet screen. Glass stuck to the IPS (Bubble in the middle)

I’ve seen this 3 times now, on a Chuwi Vi8, Hi8 and now this i7 Stylus. There is a bubble in the middle fo the screen, at first I thought I would have to return this tablet, send it back to China which is a huge hassle and expensive. But there is a fix. See the below video on how I used a suction cup to just pull the digitizer glass up off the IPS panel, no damaged occurred thankfully on all the cases I’ve seen so far.

The cause is when it’s transported, other package has been push or wedged into your tablets box. Or something heavy placed on it, the pressure then pushed the glass screen down onto the IPS and after some time it has “stuck” there. It looks like a bubble in the middle of the screen. This only happens to non-laminated screens which are common on the Chinese tablets as it’s cheaper. So before you start the return process, try my fix.

Has this happened to you? Please let me know in the comments if this trick worked or not?

  1. I used duct tape it worked fine. Had this problem on a onda tablet i bought.

    • Duct tape will also work, it’s very common on non-laminated displays unfortunatly.

  2. Wow. Thanks for the tip. Never happened to me, but I know myself I’d be total pissed off if that’d happen lol.

Do you think shipping insurance covers that type of damage?
Returning something to China is never an option, it costs way too much.

    • Shipping insurance should cover it, but you should be able to fix it as per the video. And you avoid all the hassles with returns etc. Which is a nightmare, trust me. Been there and never want to do it again!
