Roman numerals I'm not usually a fan of because their inferior legibility to Arabic numerals, but this one I made an exception for because it was pretty. Also have glowy hands and number markings, so you can read the watch in the dark (even if it's not as clear as if the numbers were painted as well-- we can't all be perfect, including this watch).
The movement seems decent and functional, but it's not a particularly high-end one, as indicated by the fact that the rotor is annoyingly loud (plus the relative lack of ornamentation). The movement itself is super quiet when the rotor isn't moving. I don't have much experience with Miyotas but this one seems fine, and it's also easy and super smooth to set the time. They aren't super accurate so you have to check them frequently, but if you're within a few minutes and aren't using this watch to run scientific experiments that go on for weeks at a time, you should be good.
There is one proper complaint I have and that's the deployant clasp. I don't have a great reason for hating deployant clasps, but I'm am much more a fan of the old school pin-and-buckle style. The big thing about this one that's annoying is that the pin to set it in place requires Herculean precision and strength to undo and adjust. It is not an easy thing.
Anyway, this is a great lil watch. Recommended.
My only qualm with this product is the wrist band- i was hoping for a more supple material, but I imagine that the leather needs to be "broken in" before it becomes softer and more bendable.
Overall, a great product for a great price. Would definitely recommend!
This is the 5th Bulova watches i bought, 2 of them were for me, and others for family members. Overall, Bulova has outstanding quality and appearence, i also have Precisionist sport model, and my wife wears Diamond collection. So, after 3 years of having different models, i cannot say anything against Bulova. Nice, not too expensive (if $300 is your price range), and it's Japanese quality like Seiko or Orient, in basic models (top models have Swiss mechanizm).
The reasons that i gave 4 stars, are that the dial window is mineral crystal, which is not scratch resistant, so i have a lot of scratches on my another Bulova. And the second reason is that these mechanical watches are not so precise as other their models. I have to adjust time every other day, by moving them 2 minutes back. I know that automatic mechanical watches do not suppose outstanding time precision, but i know another brands that have that parameter much better. So i suggested Bulova (with its great quality) would take this issue covered, but didnt find it meeting my expectation.
Otherwise, great watches, recommended to have one right away!
