By expelling harmful dust particles and dirt from the chassis through two dedicated tunnels, the ADC system acts like the laptop's immune system — preventing build-up in the thermal fins to increase system stability and lifespan.

Build quality: it's plastic but not cheap plastic, it's pretty solid with not much keyboard flex but again I don't slam down on the keys.
Display: coming from a cheap thinkpad this is definitely a huge step up, 60hz freesyc 1080p panel is really nice, again depending on what you are coming from this maybe a upgrade or downgrade but it definitely isn't a crap display.
Keyboard and trackpad: this one is what shocked me the most, again coming from a thinkpad which has arguably the best keyboards on laptops, this one feels pretty solid. Nice actuation pressure and travel also gives a nice rebound (not mushy at all). The back lighting does its job with 3 levels of brightness. The trackpad is good as well, uses Microsoft precision drivers and is nice and smooth. Clickiness of the buttons is also good. I mostly use a usb mouse but you won't have any issues using it, again like most of the things on this machine....solid.
NVMe and storage: mine came with a western digital nvme 256gig drive, I got around 1700mbps reads and 1200 writes if I am remembering correctly. I swapped this out for a regular sata based SSD and it works well, getting full 500mbps speeds on that one. The reason I did the swap was because the nvme drive that comes in this laptop has trouble playing nice with Linux and I need to dual boot so the "slower" drive was put in and I'm using the nvme drive as an external fast USB using a UASP based enclosure.
Graphics performance: again another shock, the laptop comes with integrated Vega graphics which handles desktop/office tasks and as soon as you fire up a demanding game the graphics switches to the RX560x. This is my first laptop with a dedicated GPU and it really is a god send, having the ability to play games on the go and *cough* even at work *cough* is really something. So far I've loaded up Crysis 1 (to see if the old meme still stands true, can it play crysis), older COD Modern warfare and Fallout 4. It plays the first 2 pretty much maxed out and I can play fallout 4 on high settings. I don't know the frames but I did this on purpose, all games play smooth and I get no stuttering. So all in all it is a very capable and enjoyable experience, most AAA games I assume would run on maybe medium settings. What I would suggest though is that you enable Wattman (there are a few videos on youtube on how to do this) with this you can undervolt or overclock the gpu for extra performance.
Battery life: huge upgrade for me but would be mediocre for someone coming from a higher end laptop. Again referring to my old thinkpad that could barely do 1:30hrs on battery, the 4hrs and change I get from this is more than enough for me. This is 4hrs of normal use, web browsing, watching youtube, stuff like that.
Ports: nice selection of ports, my only gripe is that all are on the left side of the machine, while 99% of the times this is not a problem, sometimes you get a fat usb device and using this side by side next to the other ports causes some flex where you are trying to jam in 2 devices really close together, I would have preferred spacing it out a bit more and maybe move the ethernet and power ports to the right side but again most of the times this isn't a problem. You get 1 USB 2.0, 2x super speed 3.1 ports, hdmi out and ethernet, no SD card slot though, not a big deal but I have used them in the past and they are convenient.
CPU performance and cooling: so far so good, no slow downs or thermal throttling. The 3550h processor is a perfect match for the 560x and is similar in performance to the i5 8300. I use it for virtualization and I have had zero issues. The cooling fans do get audible during gaming BUT it isn't an annoying sound, it's just mostly air rushing, no whines or hums. This doesn't affect me since I use headphones when gaming any way and with those on, you don't hear a thing. I may swap the stock thermal paste for some artic mx4 or liquid metal if I'm feeling risky. I think the cooling was really well done, where most manufacturers just have vents on the bottom of the laptop which can easily be blocked, Asus had enough intelligence to include vent at the top by the keyboard as well....good on asus for that one.
Ease to work on: pretty easy to get into, remove all the screws from the bottom and get a PLASTIC pry tool and unclip from the front first, it would feel as if you are gonna break it but just be careful. From there you have access to everything, SSD's, wifi card, RAM and the heat sinks for easy cleaning.
All in all, been using it daily for the past month-ish and no regrets about this purchase and I will definitely be buying Asus again in the future especially this TUF series. Perfect mix of price to performance.

You probably want to hear how it performs first. It is fully capable of running the latest and greatest titles at mid to low settings depending on how stressful they are, and older titles with all the bells and whistles turned on. While I don't have any high end FPS titles loaded, it runs Civ VI just fine in DX 11 mode in 1920X1080 set to Medium and doesn't bog down when the world size is largest, full of animations, and fog of war lifts for all regions. World of Warships runs completely playable on Medium. And Ultimate Admiral Dreadnought Alpha set at super awesome high with the worlds worst optimization runs just fine, but is not very taxing. Also, Parkasaurus Rex looks and runs stellar...
*Screen - Good quality, very clear, and responsive, a little light bleeding at the corners at high brightness, not the brightest screen I've ever used, but good.
*Audio - It sounds decent for laptop speakers, but does not get very loud. Output from the 3.5mm jack is good enough I've piped it into my home audio system and played music and movies through my high end speakers and it sounded fine considering the source.
*Storage - You're not going to run a multi-million person weekly uploaded YouTube channel on this without external storage, but 4-8 (depending on just how bloated) triple A titles will fit on this just fine for gaming, and your average productivity software and the pictures from your vacation to Florida last winter, even those "special" ones you don't tell people about, just fine.
*Keyboard - The keyboard is one of the best features. While they are physically not as big as my mechanical Ducky board's keys, they don't feel any smaller if that makes any sense. I think the actual surface you hit is no smaller, I haven't measured, but the key itself is smaller with a large border around it. Compared to a mechanical keyboard they obviously feel mushy to me, but for a rubber dome switch they are good to adequate.
*Touchpad - works great for normal productivity. Only complaint is to differentiate between right and left click I have to go really far to the lower right or left corners. As for gaming, Get a mouse. Get a mouse. GET A MOUSE.
*Battery - She's a cable queen, Just typing, surfing the net, or doing light duty it is perfectly fine for hours and hours. Streaming movies eats into that time. About two feature length films worth. Gaming, Plug it in, or play fast, once the dedicated video card kicks in your battery level drops faster than the gas gauge needle on my old 87 F150 at highway speeds.
*Fan noise - This thing is completely dead silent until you fire up something taxing like a game. Then it gets a little loud, but not unbearably whiny just a constantly audible blower sound. On a scale of my late 90's OC rig with 10 80cm fans to my current closed circuit water cooled rig with 240mm fans... it's closer tot he old school rig, as far as sound, but way way better than my ancient socket 7 rig that had a 60mm 90cfm fan on the cpu...
*Size and Weight - I've held heavier, I've used lighter, It's good for it's size and expected usage. If you travel a lot, and this is mainly for work and not entertainment, look elsewhere. If it will live on a desk or table and occasionally travel. YES. IT fits in my Cabellas hunting day pack along with the charger, a set of Sennheiser HD599SE's, and a loaded CZ75 Compact with a spare magazine with room leftover for a t-shirt and spare socks on top.
This laptop I would recommend for anyone needed a laptop that bridges the gap between a stay at home desktop replacement and a thin and light productivity laptop while shopping on a budget. It's neither the best of both worlds, but it is capable enough to do both. It would be the perfect machine for a college student that doesn't always take their laptop to class, and that still wants to be able to game back at the dorm. Just don't spill beer on it. We know you have beer, just be careful.
That is about it. If you read this far, Thanks and have a wondermous day shopping in your underwear. Shh... I wont tell.
