Test were done on an AMD ryzen 5 2600X 3.6ghz with 16gb of ram. The drives were tested with 0GB of used space (my testing method) as an added on drive to my test rig, which is going to give you real testing results as opposed to installing windows on it and then testing while windows is installed (99% of reviews here).***with write caching turned off, the write readings went down so you definitely want to turn this on in your windows setting and most likely in windows 10, it will be on by default. Without write caching, the system can't feed the drives fast enough and performance is hurt. In the testing examples it could only do sequentially 179MB/s. So for those of you who see a really low speed when you test your drive, or on 1 Star reviews, this is what happened. To fix this find the drive caching parameter in your operating system and turn it on.During the write tests, the drive was in an open enclosure and not screwed in to any metal. It basically was hanging free in the air and the ambient temperature was 82F degrees in the room. The drive during stress testing got up to 96F, on the back side of the drive with the specs, which is outstanding for a drive under stress. The top of the drive with the blue label only got to 92F. Under normal condition, I predict the drive will be running at ambient temperature. The readings were taken with an Etekcity infrared thermometer.Testing software Crystal Disk MarkWith write caching turned on (default)1GB test file-Sequential 564.1MB/s read and 520.0MB/s write8GB test file Sequential 563.9MB/s read and 520.0MB/s writeFor other specs (Q32,Q8, asee attached pictures.Testing software AS SSD Benchmark(all tests completed with write caching on)1GB test file-Sequential 521MB/s read and 486MB/s writeScore 452 read and 469 write, combined 116110GB test file Sequential 522MB/s read and 488MB/s writeScore 451 read and 471 write, combined 1161For other specs (4k, 4k-64thread, and Latency see attached pictures)Background:I've been building PC's since 1987 (Turbo 8088 XT with 640K of ram) and have been a network/systems engineer for 10 years. It's made my MacBook 2011 15" feel like a new model. Highly recommended. Installation is easy but the cloning process with Mac's software is a bit tricky. Crucial's cloning/SSD software also doesn't support iOS, which is a pity but I see they have something in the works.
