I will say though, I was to the point I wanted to return this because I couldn't get the App. We have an 8th Gen Fire Tablet and the App does not download. It's also unavailable on iPhone. I ended up having to download it for desktop on a Mac. Once downloaded, the computer told me it will work best when moved to applications. Did this and then it didn't work - it just kept shutting down. Deleted it and reinstalled (not adding to applications) and now it seems to work just fine.
My sole intention was she could have it on her Fire tablet, but for now she'll just have to use it on the laptop.
Frustration awaits if you try to create an account. The app tells you, "something went wrong" every time you pick a username. If you try to go to the URLs mentioned in any of the documentation, you get 404 or security errors from your browser and cannot get to the sites.
Doing some Googling with a frustrated kid by my side, I found out Kano stopped being in the educational software business in January of 2023 because they were losing millions of pounds (they're a UK firm) a year. None of the websites Kano used to run for educational software work anymore; either they don't resolve or they don't let you go anywhere useful.
As a result, returning as defective -- there's no coding game attached to this motion-sensitive blinky paperweight anymore.
I would not recommend it as a tool to teach programming. But it makes a great gift to small girls.

So disappointed!!!
Amazon should do their due diligence and should not be selling this as you can’t use the is product!!!
Couple of observations to be aware of, it requires Bluetooth v4 or newer, Mac’s from about 2011 onwards have this but the 2010 macbook air hand me down the kids use doesn’t.
Whilst it works on an iPad Mini, the screen is a little too small to really get everything on. shouldn’t be a problem on a bigger iPad.
We paid around £30 list is apparently £80 which is a little high, anything under £50 is still great value
Unfortunately we did not get very far on the Kindle HD 10, it refused to connect despite multiple attempts and reboots and reinstalls. As expected no response to support request because it's Christmas.
But worked fine on Windows 10. This is the Scratch coding platform which is designed for 8+. Even if younger kids are keen and get the general idea of coding it can be tricky to drag-n-drop to small targets with a trackpad so assistance will be required to avoid frustration. Also the friendly popups get in the way, some block the canvas from working and some do not.
But bearing those in mind this is does what it intends, making coding interesting to small people.
Hopefully we'll revisit it when she's a bit older.
Irronically for 'coding' product the website it directs you to get the accompanying app won't load as it is insecure. Grabbing the app from the app store is also a challenge. Once downloaded you cant proceed unless you create a login, which fails every time. Tried on Apple devices, Android devices and Windows machine. Nothing works. Device is pretty much useless without the app so now left with a plastic box with no functionality.
Can not find anyway to contact Kano to resolve the problem.
