Just received my projector last night. Have not really gotten used to all of the settings but out of the box the picture is fantastic. Took me about an hour to get my old projector down from the ceiling and the new UHD52ALV hung up. Turned it on and it worked. My problem now is my receiver which does switching between the xbox one x, cable tv box, blur ray player won't switch 4k so the projector only recognized everything as 1080p. My receiver said it would but after further investigation it does not see the 4k encoded hdr (receiver is older) So for now what I did was ran everything through the xbox one x (well everything I ran my cable box in and then from the xbox to the projector) and it works. The projector recognizes the 4k signal from the xbox and playing 4k movies and xbox looks awesome. I can easily switch to the cable box from the xbox desktop just selecting the one guide form the xbox desktop and I got my cable tv back. I used the optical out on the xbox to the optical in on the receiver and sound is great. Since my blu ray player is not a 4k one I am going to leave this set up like this for now. The xbox one x plays 4k blu ray disks so my old blu rayer player will not be used anymore. The only thing is the xbox has to be on now to play regular cable tv I don't like that i might end up running another 4k hdmi cable to the projector not sure yet.... I do have 2 optical in's on my receiver so if I can connect one to the cable tuner and the other to the xbox I'll probably run that second hdmi to the projector. The projector is whisper (I mean whisper) silent and my head is probably only about 7' from it when I am sitting on my couch watching to the point I thought maybe the fan was not running but it is. So far i am very happy with this projector though it has only been a day. I'll post an update maybe in a couple of weeks.
Update: Just realized that my xfiinty cable box would not do 4k so exchanged it for one that does support it however the new cable box does not have audio out which for me not good at the moment. My sterro does not switch 4k so for now I am out of luck even if I run a second hdmi cable to the projector i have no way of getting sound for the cable box. For now until I upgrade my receiver I have to run the cable signal through the xbox one x which I have done but that forces me to have the xbox on while watching tv not something i want to keep doing. There is a optical out so I might try running a second hdmi cable to the projector and optical out to my receiver if I can get a 25' optical cable not sure yet.

I've had the unit about a year and just enjoying it. Right before Christmas last year a dead pixel showed up. I contacted Optoma and they had no problems issuing me an RMA for a warranty repair. I did have to pick up the tab to ship it to them which was expected it's clearly stated on their warranty repair policy "Postage, insurance and shipping costs incurred in returning your Product to OPTOMA or its authorized service provider (Service Provider) for warranty service is your responsibility." I knew this going into my purchase since I looked it up so nothing unexpected here. I shipped my projected on 12/24/2020 from PA to CA. I received my projector back on 01/09/2021 given the entire holiday season that was fantastic repair and return time. The warranty on policy does not suck like others have mentioned those folks need to read ahead find out the policy and if they don't like it then buy something else but this projector is awesome and so was their support. I don't think it is fair to give them a bad review because you did not read their return policy! As far as a dead pixel showing up within that first year yeah that sucks but stuff happens.
Update 07/13/21: Got the projector back after they repaired the dead pixel. On the 88th day after the warranty repair and I got my projector back another dead pixel showed up. I did not notice it until the 89 day and I called Optoma right away. They said their warranty repair was good for 90 days whew! They did say however I would have to send it back again. I explained I had no problem doing that but I can't continue to keep paying this shipping. They agreed and picked up the tab for shipping both ways. They sent me a UPS sticker and I was all set. Got the projector back pretty quick and fingers crossed it has been fine now for 3 months. Still amazed the picture quality is fantastic.
