I never did like the valve on that first version that I had. It was difficult for me to use. Eventually, the valve started leaking, probably from my misuse.
This newer version of the sleeping pad has a different valve and I like it. I have high hopes that this sleeping pad will last as long as the first one.
It’s very comfortable.
And, for the is price, I expect it to keep the air for, at least, 8 hours under pressure.
I do NOT recommend this.

Update:
I have since looked through the support pages in their website and tried the technique they recommended :
- fill it up
- let it cool down (for a hour or so)
- top it off
- snap the black color cap
That seems to work like a charm. This method kept it inflated.

I now think the product is viable and decent.
For cold weather, pair this with the fitted KLYMIT quilted cover and fit it into a 20'F mummy sleeping bag with a foam pad under the sleeping bag to insulate you from the cold ground. I slept on top of a mountain in NY in late October (40'F overnight) in nothing but leggings and a t-shirt and I was WARM! (I am normally cold, being 165lbs and 5'*', lean athletic build and no fat to keep me warm. This mattress was easy to inflate, lightweight, and fits perfectly in my mummy bag. Highly recommend!
As for packing, its very small when deflated and fits easily in the included bag. I can stuff my deflated pillow in the same bag and theres still room if you wanted to stash a small headlamp, chapstick or other bedtime essential in there.
Highly recommend! At the price you can scarcely do better.

I researched and decided to go with the Static V. What a difference it made! It took about 15 breaths to fill it up. When I removed my mouth from the valve to take a breath, no air escaped the Static V so there was no fighting escaping air while trying to fill it up. Just flip over the valve when it's time to deflate. I did have to try a few times when rolling up/folding the mattress to get all the air out though. Overall, very easy to inflate and a couple of minutes to completely deflate (quicker to inflate than deflate). I attached a pic showing I was able to put the Static V back in its carrying pouch after it was deflated.
My goal for a sleeping pad was fourfold; Comfort, Lightweight, Compact, and Price. The Static V met all four. There are more inexpensive options available, but they didn't seem to be as lightweight and compact for a hiker. My research told me that this is not meant for colder weather because of its low R-value. If you're going to be sleeping in cold weather, get the Static V Insulated (more expensive and a little heavier) or look elsewhere because there are some great cold weather sleeping pads out there.
Like others have mentioned, if I try to prop my self up, my elbows feel the ground. But, when I lie down on it, whether on my back or sleeping on my side, I don't feel the ground at all. Thinking that's because of the distributed weight. I should add that I’m 5’9” and 135 pounds. Note that it is narrow at just under two feet wide so if you need something wider, this won't be for you. Anything wider means increased weight and less compact though.
Recommended. I wish I had bought this years ago. As far as ordering goes, I ordered on a Friday and it arrived on Sunday (two days). A+.
