EC2 prices in US East (N. Virginia)

us-east-1

US East (N. Virginia) (us-east-1) offers 1205 of the current EC2 instance types we track. It is the baseline for our regional price index, and usually the cheapest region in which to run EC2.

N. Virginia gets new instance families first and carries the widest range: only 15 current types we track are missing here. Because most other regions charge the same or more for identical hardware, it is the default choice when latency and data-residency rules allow it, and every unit price elsewhere on this site is quoted at its rates.

The lowest price per vCPU in each family here comes from hpc7g.16xlarge for compute optimized ($0.0263 per vCPU-hour), f2.6xlarge for fpga instances ($0.0825 per vCPU-hour), t4g.nano for general purpose ($0.00210 per vCPU-hour), dl1.24xlarge for machine learning asic instances ($0.1366 per vCPU-hour). These are on-demand Linux rates; reserved instances and Savings Plans cut them further, and each instance page shows the reserved rates for this region alongside every other region.
